Ph.D. Behavioral Science, minor in Research, Measurement, and Statistics - UNT 2022

Howdy! I became part of the psychology faculty here at UNT Fall 2023, and I love teaching and mentoring undergraduate students! After failing out of college first semester of my freshman year, it was hard to figure out what I was going to do with my one beautiful life. Taking classes in my hometown community college, I decided to take Introduction to Psychology, and that was the beginning of my love and passion for this field! While earning my Ph.D. in Behavioral Science, I taught courses at UNT, Texas Wesleyan University, and Collin Community College. Upon graduation, I decided to go into industry as a data analyst in the field of market research, where I conducted analytics for Fortune 500 companies such as Disney, Netflix, Capital One, and Facebook's Meta. However, during my time as an analyst I missed teaching, the classroom environment, and mentorship of undergraduate students.

My pedagogy revolves around preparing students with 21st century job skills. I am a firm believer that while it is important that I teach my students psychological concepts, it is equally important that I prepare them for the job market they will be entering upon earning their degree. The primary courses that I teach are Quantitative Methods and Experimental Methods, and I really believe that I can get psychology students to love statistics and research methodology as much as I do! In addition to teaching, I also academically advise undergraduate psychology students. I love helping students figure out what classes they want to take in a given semester, researching what minor would meaningfully contribute to their career goals, and mentoring students on achieving their post-graduation goals - be it graduate school or entering the work force.
