About Me:

Hello! I joined the psychology faculty at UNT in the fall of 2022. After graduating from UTEP in 2008 with a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (Legal Psychology track), I have held faculty positions at Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. Success of students is my #1 focus in every course I teach. Together, we take the course material and apply it to our daily lives. I encourage you to use your knowledge to impact your environment and be a part of social change. My teaching interests focus on the intersection of psychology and the legal system (e.g., Psychology and Law, Wrongful Convictions, & Psychology of the Offender), cognitive psychology, behavioral statistics and research design.

I continually encourage you to evolve and I work to evolve as well. I am always seeking the best teaching techniques to increase presence and engagement. My passion is mentoring undergraduate students and helping them to develop a clear career path. You will often hear me discuss this in all courses that I teach. It is important to me that students have goals and visions beyond graduation so that we can plan the necessary steps to bring those goals to fruition. I am invested in your success! Come and see me if you have any questions about your career path!

Dr. Manriquez does not take students for Admissions Cyles.
