Lab Website: ASB Reserach Lab
Dr. Garner's research examines alcohol misuse as it relates to sexual aggression perpetration
and risky sexual behaviors (e.g., hookups, casual sexual encounters, sexting) among
high-risk populations (e.g., college students, adults with substance use disorders).
She utilizes longitudinal methods including daily diary designs to better understand
the individual difference factors that moderate the risk of alcohol use leading to
sexual risk-tasking and assault. Dr. Garner’s research has been funded by the National
Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
Student Admission: Dr. Garner will be accepting students for the Fall 2026 admission cycle.
