Assessment of Self: SONA Study

The purpose of this research study is to examine how symptoms of a wide range of psychological disorders are related to each other and to a variety of personality traits and areas of functioning. We are interested in identifying the basic components underlying different symptoms, which may explain why some symptoms co-occur more frequently than others. Understanding how specific personality traits are related to these symptoms and how different symptoms contribute to different difficulties with functioning may increase our knowledge about the development of these symptoms. This information will help us to better understand the nature of these different elements and may contribute to improved identification, prevention, and assessment of these disorders.

Interview for the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology Study

The objective of the study is to develop an interview measure of the new classification system of psychopathology, the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP). HiTOP is an influential concept cited more than 3,000 times, but it lacks a dedicated interview, which is necessary to operationalize HiTOP in research and practice. The present study will address this major impediment to the dissemination of the HiTOP system.
