Virtual Office for Multitasking

The Virtual Office for Multitasking Assessment (VOMA) aims to assess the neurocognitive demands of human multitasking in simulations of real-life boardrooms and general office activities. Whilst the ostensible complexity of multitasking would seem to limit neuropsychological assessment, recent results from cognitive neuroscience suggest that this may not be the case. Previous research has indicated that tests of multitasking may be particularly sensitive to prefrontal-striatal dysfunction in a range of clinical disorders. The VOMA project aims to extend findings from other assessment modalities (e.g., paper-and-pencil and computer automated) to immersive virtual environments.
