Undergraduate students. Our undergraduate researchers are a fundamental part of our success. In addition to hands-on training and exposure to advanced research methodology, an emphasis is placed on building the skills and materials necessary for each student's "next step"following graduation (e.g., CV building, application advice and support). All students attend weekly meetings as well as assist with participant recruitment (e.g., community flyering) and the running of research projects (e.g., initial contact, follow-up interviews, data entry, laboratory protocol). Stellar undergraduates are encouraged to partner with a graduate student and Dr. Blumenthal to prepare and present research at a regional, national, or international conference.

The Teen St.A.R. team is always accepting applications from reliable, mature, goal-oriented undergraduates. Given the training required to work with adolescents, we only request applicants who are willing to stay on for at least 2 semesters. Many of our students have stayed with us for several years; some after they graduated. The process is competitive. Students must:

• Have at least a 3.5 Psychology GPA
• Demonstrate interest in pursuing graduate studies/advanced work in psychology or a relevant field
• Be willing to sign up for a minimum of 2 semesters and have summer/winter break availability
• Strong communication and organization skills

Strong Applicants Have:

• Experience working with children or adolescents
• Prior experience in research, study design, and/or statistics (e.g., through coursework or other research lab experience)

Interested undergraduates are asked to complete and submit a short application along with a resume or CV (If you do not have a CV and/or are unsure how to make one please refer to the following resources: Psi Chi tips, Example CV). Potential team members will be contacted and interviewed by a graduate student, followed by an interview with Dr. Blumenthal.
